| Ok, here's a couple of scenarios (close to me!) Somebody can't ride their bike for some reason, but makes the effort to attend a 'qualifying' event (obviously NOT a rideout), but gets no points for it!!?? I thought the idea was to encourage members to attend A food night is arranged at a member's residence, but they get no points because they haven't ridden to it!!?? or.... We arrange a meet in a town where various members live very close... would we seriously say that they not allowed to walk to the meet? For what it's worth, I feel ALL attendances should count, as it's easier to manage. If you don't/can't attend the ride outs, you would, by default, drop points anyway, yes? We just need to clarify this, so I can collate the attendances correctly | |

| Was the cup not designed to encourage attendance on club runs? i.e arrive on bikes to then go on a run some where. Why would it need to cover a meal at wok & spice, thats not a run thats a social meal evening thingy. Club runs are the first Sunday after club night, then a Thursday ride to eat and the breakfast run. I do understand what your saying, but................if someone within the club wanted to try and win the cup but for some reason was not able to attend club runs for a while due to lack of time etc. Could they just then arrive at sandford (or where ever the start is) in a car (walk if you live down the road) and then as the ride heads off wave to everyone and then head home. Would that count? they did turn up after all. It's really crap that your having a tough time, but i'm sure you will be able to make up points once your back on your bike. As those that have more points won't be able to attend every single ride out. Allowing you to catch up. | |

| Dave, Craigs playing a double bluff, he really want any means of transport to be included as he rides a tractor Can't see the problem what someone turns up on/in as the idea is to boost attendance, obviously just turning up at the meeting place doesn't count. So long as it is in the right spirit surely it is fine. Lets be honest, who the hell would want to turn up in a car when you can ride a bike? It's only be one offs, if someone is constantly turning up in a car then they would not qualify as it clearly isn't in the spirit of the award. ~Finally, tonights meet as the A31- for us it would just be a right royal pain getting the bike out, leathering up etc when i can be there in a car before I'd even got the bike out the garage.I'm sure Dave ( busa)wouldn't bother with the bike just to do four gear changes from the Stur roundabout? ( he may have gone somewere else though on the bike..........) I'd rather stick needles in my eyes than turn up to a meet in a car, but thats just me. Pip pip... | |

| Into the fray . . . . . sticking head above parapet! My understanding was: Sunday Ride Out - have to turn up and join in on your bike to get an 'attendance point'. Breakfast Ride Outs - have to turn up and join in on your bike to get an 'attendance point'. Thursday evening nosh & social get-togethers (excluding Club Night) are classed as 'meets' not 'rideouts' therefore it doesn't matter how you get there - on roller-skates being pulled along by a couple of huskies!! - you are there so you get your 'attendance point'. Club Night attendance does not count towards the Cup. OK, putting head back down behind the parapet now. Cathy | |
