I spent 'Mothers Day' in the company of about 15,000 other bikers on the 'Ride of Respect' through Wootton Bassett. An incredible day and even the rain couldn't dampen the enthusiasm and support of those along the route and in the town itself.
I know that some of the other members also did the ride but were booked for a different start time. Mark and I arrived at Hullavington Airfield at 10.00am but didn't set off for the 12 mile ride to the town until midday due to various delays but the wait was good fun and good natured. We did look for a familiar face and/or bike but couldn't see/find anyone/thing we recognised.
I have never seen so many bikes gathered in one place giving their support to such a worthy cause. As we set off, glancing back over my shoulder the sight of so many bikes - about 3000 - lining up along the runway patiently awaiting their moment of glory was truly amazing.
Mark took some 'on board' video footage of the ride through the town but we have yet to figure out how to put it on the Forum.
A great day and one heck of a way to spend Mothering Sunday!!
